Hi, I’m Lacey!

A little about me…

I’m Lacey McMahon, a virtual assistant originally from Houston, Texas now living in Richmond, Virginia.

Before becoming a virtual assistant, I spent seven years as a high school math teacher.

I taught Algebra II and Precalculus, served as a team lead, was named Rookie Teacher of the Year at my school, contributed to curriculum writing teams, and led professional development sessions for fellow teachers. Teaching wasn’t just a job to me, it was a calling.

Math can feel intimidating, frustrating, and overwhelming. My passion was helping students break down big, complex problems into manageable steps. I worked to build their confidence, strengthen their work habits, and show them that with structure and support, they could succeed, even in the subjects that challenged them most.

But over time, the increasing workload and constant demands began to crowd out the part of teaching I loved most: designing meaningful lessons, connecting with students, and thinking creatively about how to bring big ideas to life. I found myself buried in grading, documentation, meetings, and endless to-do lists with little mental space left for the work that truly mattered.

And I realized something important- this isn’t just a teacher problem.

So many business owners experience the same thing. You start with vision, passion, and purpose — but end up overwhelmed by back-end tasks and busywork that pull you away from the big picture.

That’s what led me to becoming a virtual assistant.

I’ve always loved helping people take something that feels huge and complicated and break it down into clear, actionable steps. As a VA, I bring the same structure, reliability, and calm problem-solving I brought to the classroom.

My goal is simple: to take tasks off your plate so you can reclaim your time, protect your mental space, and focus on leading your business with clarity and intention.

Your vision deserves your full attention — and I’m here to help make that possible.

The girl behind the screen

Originally from Houston, Texas, I recently moved to Richmond, Virginia to support my husband as he works toward becoming a CRNA. We met senior year of high school and have since navigated a long-distance (college rival) relationship, a COVID wedding, and moving across the country to an entirely new state.

We share our home with two French Bulldogs who can usually be found snoozing on the couch at all hours of the day, and who have truly redefined the term “lap dog.”

I earned my degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin, where I developed the perseverance and discipline that still shape the way I work today.

Throughout college and my teaching career, I consistently pursued leadership roles that strengthened my organization, communication, and event coordination skills. I also coached two state- and nationally medaling high school cheer teams, and still love keeping up with them and offering long-distance coaching advice.

I deeply value community, meaningful connection, and quality time with the people I love. Outside of work, you can usually find me planning weekend getaways, trying new restaurants, squeezing in a workout, or organizing the next happy hour with friends.
